Children are often naturally open, observant, imaginative, and intuitive. They may talk about people they cannot see, know things they were not told, have very vivid dreams, sense the emotions of others, or speak about loved ones who have passed.

As adults, we may not always know how to respond. We may worry that encouraging these conversations will frighten our children, influence what they believe, or make the experience feel bigger than it needs to be. At the same time, dismissing or correcting them too quickly may teach them not to trust what they feel or to stop talking about their experiences altogether.
